Summary

Natuurlijk is a community-driven event organized by Manus Magazine that explores nature-related topics through the perspectives of passionate local creatives and experts from the Aalst region in Belgium. The event aims to provide practical and accessible information about integrating nature into daily life, emphasizing diverse viewpoints rooted in self-taught knowledge and shared experiences within the community.

Design

For the first edition of Gespreksavond ⌁ Natuurlijk, we wanted to emphasize the importance of contact and interaction with nature. So we make custom illustrations to highlight the direct (re)connection with nature as an important step to our daily life.

The illustrated poster is visual metaphor reinforced the idea that meaningful interaction with nature requires patience and time, much like nurturing any relationship. The outcome of the event was a deeper collective understanding of the value of slowing down and giving space for nature to enrich daily life, as well as a strengthened community bond around these shared values.

Result

This visual identity helped communicate the importance of integrating nature into daily life. During the event, the speakers were genuinely enthusiastic explaning how working together with nature has positively impacted their lives. They highlighted specific ways in which nature supports and benefits their well-being, creativity, and sense of community. Manus Magazine — contributed to increased engagement and positioned as a facilitator of creative, educational, and community-driven conversations.
