Summary

The Santa Curtas Festival is a local film event held annually featuring new editions in August on Madeira Island, Portugal. This open-air festival showcases national and international filmmakers with niche visions, creating an intimate atmosphere with distinctive character. The 7th edition aims to reconnect the essential elements of the festival, the sea and the amphitheater that defines this place.

Design

The natural motion of the sea as observed from the amphitheater became the clear inspiration. This dynamic element, along with the amphitheater itself, defines the site’s character, leading to the adoption of flexible visual systems that mirror these organic movements.

Result

An open, flexible visual system: a dynamic typographical pattern that creates more space for printed and online materials in upcoming editions.
